Julia Grace Designs is a fashion label that produces unique and colourful zero-waste clothing, made ethically and sustainably and, most of all, with passion. All garments are designed and handmade by myself, Pam Prince, here in Perth, Western Australia. Each garment is bespoke, contemporary in design, incorporates traditional artisan details and has a minimum impact on the environment, providing an alternative to fast fashion. Slow fashion has never looked better or been better for the planet.

My studio is a small but cosy room within my home. It is my sanctuary, a place of freedom to be creative, and somewhere that ideas are fostered and shaped. It’s lovingly filled with all my materials for production and dedicated to inspiration.

My inspiration comes from virtually anywhere, but mostly, it from nature and architecture. Both aspects greatly inspire the colour, texture, silhouette and construction of each garment. The environment heavily influences the sustainable practices I use, from design to production.
The process of producing sustainable eco-friendly designer fashion offers me the opportunity to be creative, to focus totally on slow fashion, to design for all age groups and sizes and, to break the rules if necessary. Being a zero-waste fashion designer gives me great satisfaction because I get to create highly original garments that offer personal self-expression.

Based on the feedback I’ve had from visitors, what attracts them to my stall is the original designs, the wide array of colours, the professionally designed yet zero-waste and limited-edition collections, and the thoughtful features such as hand embroidery.
Kalamunda Artisan Market promotes and supports local creatives, focusing on goods that are designed and made here in Western Australia. The markets are a great event that showcases unique handcrafted products that are one of a kind, limited runs, custom made, of high quality, and authentic. Selling my garments at Kalamunda Artisan Markets allows me to connect directly with each customer, people who are appreciative of handmade and high-quality products. Another reason for choosing Kalamunda Artisan Markets is that the monies raised from stall rentals go back into the community through Rotary Kalamunda.
Having been at Kalamunda Artisan Market now for just over five years, I’ve appreciated the positive interactions with visitors, meeting different people, building relationships, being in the middle of the Kalamunda business centre, surrounded by other creatives and the overall ambience of the market environment.
